The specialty of pediatrics is one of the modern medical branches concerned with the health care of children of all ages. Therefore, pediatrics may specialize in studying the psychological and physical development of the child, and may include the treatment of various diseases and disabilities of children, and provide all means of medical and health care, whether they are newborns or In childhood and up to adolescence by specialized consultants, qualified specialists and trained in the health field, where the Department of Pediatrics began its activities within the framework of the Department of Internal Medicine until it became a separate department in 1398 AH - 1978 AD and includes an in-patient ward of 40 beds to treat children up to the age of thirteen And an outpatient department that includes outpatient clinics in addition to a nursery and intensive care unit for children. The department takes care of outpatients in thirty specialized pediatric clinics.
Our Vision
Treating inpatients at the hospital, in addition to the outpatient clinics, the department provides the clinical cases necessary to train medical students, internists and graduate students in the Arab specialties emanating from the Arab Board of Medical Specialties.. The faculty members, consultants and specialists also prepare research in the field of specialization in conjunction with the departments The other academic department is involved in teaching fifth-year medical students, interns and postgraduates, with the aim of training in debating disease cases, arriving at their diagnosis and prescribing treatment for them, and acquiring clinical skills and the ability to interpret pathological phenomena and laboratory tests, and to derive the correct diagnosis from them.
